JOINED HANDS TO SUPPORT WORLDWIDE EARTH HOUR MOVEMENT

FOR THE ENVIRONMENT BY GOING DARK FOR ONE HOUR

Bangkok, Thailand – On Saturday 30th March 2019, properties under the brand Marriott Executive Apartments (MEA) in Bangkok join towns and cities around the world to support worldwide Earth Hour campaign by going dark for one hour between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. (local time) to shine a light on the need for climate action.

Earth Hour is a global effort to bring awareness to the threat of climate change. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) created this annual global environmental awareness event 12 years ago to emphasize the threat of climate change. Participation in Earth Hour aligns with Marriott International’s sustainability & social impact platform, Serve 360, and reflects a philosophy the brand aims to practice year-round to “do good in every direction.”

Marriott Executive Apartments Mayfair Bangkok, Marriott Executive Apartments Sathorn Vista Bangkok and Marriott Executive Apartments Sukhumvit Park Bangkok participated this movement by turning off their properties’ exterior signage lighting, diming and turning off non-essential interior lighting and using candlelight in appropriate public areas such as restaurants and bars. The properties also encouraged their guests to partake in this action by inviting them to join the candlelight activity at the lobby area and offering refreshment to the guests during the light-off hour.
